GLITZBOX JEWELLERY SUBSCRIPTION BOX + GIVEAWAY

The new jewellery subscription that is Glitzbox seems a wonderful idea. I love a bit of bling to brighten up my everyday mum uniform of jeans and t-shirts and make me feel just that bit more sparkly. Though with a toddler in tow I rarely get an opportunity to shop in peace, so receiving a box of selected jewellery each month seems like a great treat.

Sometimes I feel terribly guilty of waste. I recently cleared out my jewellery box and discovered how much junk I’ve bought over the years. The concept of Glitzbox is not necessarily owning the pieces, though you can buy any of the ones sent to you, but a way to share and discover quality jewellery from new artists as well.

The Glitzbox gold selection

HOW DOES THE GLITZBOX CONCEPT WORK?

Glitzbox comes in four membership options. The Silver Box at £39, The Mixed Box at £44 and The Gold Box at £49. From that, you get £30, £35 and £45 GLITZcredit respectively which can be used towards any purchases each month. If you like a more superior service then you can sign up to The Ultimate Box at £99 a month with a £60 GLITZcredit.

You get extra GLITZcredit by referring friends, so if you know any jewellery lovers this is a great way to build up your own credit and introduce them to a fun and sparkly concept.

Glitzbox select 3 pieces that suit your preferences based on a style quiz you fill out when you first sign up. So if you are more of a gold girl than into silver pieces or prefer a modern twist to a classic style, Glitzbox caters for every taste working with a collection of jewellery makers from around the world.

By the end of the month, you decide whether to buy or return the pieces. All the jewellery is sterilised and repackaged before being sent out again. You can cancel at any time and both delivery and returns are included.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX

My trial gold box included a beautiful spiral cuff from jewellery company Tea & Tequila as seen above. They source pieces from skilled Mexican craftsmen. The brand’s ethos is sustainability. This gold plated piece is by skilled artisan, Fernando.  He’s using Mexican amethyst and quartz stones, which I love. It was easy to adjust the fit and I think this is a fab addition to any summer wardrobe. Now all you need is some sunshine and a margarita!

The stunning earrings from Cielle were my favourite. On the heavier side but gorgeous craftsmanship and they sure make you feel like you should be on a red carpet in Cannes this spring. The company is headed by Creative Director, Seree Kang, who’s keen to bring elegance and joy into daily life. I would wear these to a summer wedding teamed with a pastel coloured dress and gold sandals.

The final piece is an 18K rose gold necklace from London-based Sharon Mills. I prefer white or yellow gold, but loved the colour of the stone pendant. This luxury Boho style is definitely on trend and ideal for everyday use.

I was also gifted this adorable signet gold ring from Crux London. It is engraved with my initial and works perfectly with my mother of pearl ring. Most rings included can be adjusted to accommodate different ring sizes.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE GLITZBOX CONCEPT

Overall I loved my box though would perhaps have preferred more everyday pieces this month as I didn’t have any special events on for which to wear these spectacular designs, so I brought out the bling for an ordinary Tuesday at our local bridge club. At least I gave the beautiful spring blossoms a run for their money!

Subscriptions open this Saturday, the 15th of April, and you can find all the information on the Glitzbox website.

What do you think? Would you try a subscription service like Glitzbox?
