HAPPY FATHER’S DAY (OR NOT)

As I write this Daddy Long Legs is having a lie in. That will be the extent of our Father’s Day celebrations this year. Not that he doesn’t deserve more, but he doesn’t really believe in a day dedicated to just him. In the same way, he is not a fan of birthdays and prefers to avoid the spotlight.

This is a bit difficult for me to deal with as I adore special occasions and I enjoy making a fuss of the people I love. Though one thing I’ve learned over the years is that you can’t change someone and if that is what he wants, or in this case doesn’t want, I should respect that. In saying that he should in return allow me to celebrate birthdays and Mother’s Day the way I want, so I’ll just leave that here as a very obvious reminder. Hint hint!

SUNDAY IS FUNDAY

Sundays are generally our family day so I’m sure we’ll find something fun to do. The sun is out and it is set to be another scorcher with temperatures rising above 30 degrees. I find this too hot and much prefer 25 as a max but on the other hand, I don’t want to complain as I’ve been longing for summer for months.

I wish we had a pool on hot days like today. Caspian’s been playing with water in the garden these past few days and absolutely love it so we might go hunting for a paddling pool, though I suspect others will have had a similar idea and they might be sold out everywhere. We’ll see.

We do have a large outdoor pool locally, which is lovely but it naturally gets packed on days like today so we might wait and visit later in the week.

Are you celebrating Father’s Day? What are you up to today?

  1. I feel a bit bad, its been so stressful ver this way that I didn’t really celebrate it with my dad!
He just had the earache of my son having a meltdown 24/7, thats a gift… right?

  2. I don’t have a dad so I’ve never really celebrated. But I’ve had a lovely day with my stepdaughter & boyfriend making sure he has a lovely day. X
