INSTAGRAM – MY WEEK IN PICTURES 1/52

I love Instagram. But I didn’t always. Many moons ago I established a personal account, but never understood it, so I rarely used it. It was linked to my personal Facebook profile, and friends and family seemed to find me and follow me regardless of me never posting a picture.

When I started this blog I made sure I got my brand name across social media, so that if people searched for Scandimummy they would find me, be it Pinterest, Twitter and now YouTube. I was also determined to crack Instagram. To understand it. To use it.

At the beginning of 2016 I set myself a goal. I wanted to increase my following. Having focused mostly on Twitter I wanted to turn my attention to Instagram, become better at photography, engage more and grow. At the beginning of 2016 I had around 250 followers. Now I have 2500. My goal for this year is to double that number.

Each week I will share my photos here. It will allow me to look over the photos from the week that has past, reflect on what we’ve experienced and also share them with you in case you’ve missed them on Instagram.

THIS WEEK’S PICTURES

Caspian got a Micro Scooter for Christmas and it (and he) was immediately put to the test the same day. He loves it, though some days he looks like a pro and other days he simply drags it along defeating the purpose, but still enjoying himself. He’s luckily also accepted that the helmet is an essential part of scooting so he’ll go and get it himself and ask for it to be put on his head before he starts, which I’m very grateful for.

Our Christmas was very quiet and even though the room was decorated I hadn’t gone all out on table decorations. I had however picked up these Nutcracker crackers at Flying Tiger, which I thought were rather brilliant.

The weather has turned rather cold and as we went for a walk the other morning, I spotted this beautiful frost pattern on the window of a parked car. It reminded me of the fairy tale The Snow Queen by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen.

Having felt sluggish and drained over the Christmas period, I found renewed energy as the New Year approached. I wrote a very honest post about my journey and why I feel I can now call myself a professional blogger. I included this self-portrait.

I’m determined to continue the work I’ve started in 2016, so with a positive and focused mindset I’m ready to grow. Both as a person and as a professional. I therefore invested in The Million Dollar Blog, a new book about making the most of this new and still emerging industry. It’s a great read so far.

2017, I'm ready for you! 🎉

Lastly I designed a new set of monthly markers to help introduce each month on Instagram. I’ve paired them with inspirational quotes from famous Scandinavians. The first is by above mentioned fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen.

Happy New Year! Here's to 2017! May it be filled with love, laughter and lots of happiness. 🎉
