PICKING A GOOD JUICER

Picking a good juicer

“I’ve been looking around for good makes and really like the look of the juicers from Panasonic. I suspect you need one that is easy to both use and clean so the hassle of it all doesn’t stop you. The one I have my eye on also creates frozen desserts, so that could be a big plus for over the summer.”

We have three fruit trees in the garden. They grow gorgeous plums, pears and apples every year. Last year we almost drowned in the amount of fruit that was produced. I feel bad that we didn’t use more of it. We have some friends who come and pick the plums and turn them into delicious jams and chutneys. I like baking, so I often use the apples and pear for cake and tarts, too.

I would like to do more though. It doesn’t look like we’ll have quite the same big crop this year. Even though the apple tree had beautiful flowers earlier this Spring. But even so I would like to use this homegrown, organic fruit to create yummy goodness for us all. Daddy Long Legs used to make homemade apple juice, though I’m yet to taste it. He’s only got an old juicer, and I’ve been thinking that that might be what’s been putting him off. If we invested in a new one we would be ready for September and could create other types as well using different fruit and veggies.

Do you juice? What does a good juicer need to do? And what are your best tips for creating tasty treats using fruit and vegetables?

NB! Please note this post is written in collaboration with Panasonic though all words and opinions are my own.

  1. Our Apple trees had lots of blossom too but I think the recent ferocious winds has knocked a lot of the tiny fruits off the trees. I hope you get a juicer soon xx
