You’re also going to need to make sure that they have the appropriate footwear. Sandals and shoes that are easy to get on and off are fantastic for the hot weather. But, there are also likely to be days when the rain falls, and you don’t want to be trapped inside, so we recommend getting some kids wellies for each child as well. This way, they can splash around to their heart’s content. 

Sunscreen And Protection

Of course, when the sun is beating down, you need to make sure that they are protected from this as best as you can. We know that sometimes it can be tough to get them to wear their sunglasses, their sunhats, and anything else that protects them from the sun, but you have to make sure they’re doing this.

The same goes for sunscreen. Your kids should be covered in sunscreen if they’re outside, preferably the highest factor that you can find. Their skin is sensitive at this age; they don’t need a tan, they need protection. 

MAKE A PLAN FOR SUMMER

Finally, you need a plan if you’re going to get through the summer. You don’t want to constantly hear your kids telling you how bored they are, do you? You don’t want to be constantly worrying that they’re going to tear up the house because they have nothing to do?

So, you need to come up with a list of activities that they can do at home, and a list of days out that you want to take them on. The more that you can think of, the more fun-filled your time is going to be. It doesn’t have to be expensive; spending this time with your kids is what is important.
