“I put LIQUIPROOF to the test on a new pair of turquoise heels. I sprayed them and left them overnight. The next day I poured water on them (I wasn’t brave enough to try wine!) and it’s truly amazing.”
There is one episode of Dragon’s Den that has always stood out to me over all the others. A guy in a smart suit presents to the dragons and pours a bottle of red wine down himself. His suit is still in pristine condition afterwards and the looks on the dragons faces are simply priceless. Now if this is not a sales pitch I’m not sure what is? It definitely left a big impression with me as you can tell.
So I was very excited to be given the opportunity to try this magical product myself. LIQUIPROOF claims to protect anything from carpets to shoes by coating them and making liquid simply trickle off. In the Dragon’s Den demonstration, which you can watch on the company’s website, you even see tomato ketchup run off a blue suede shoe!
In our house shoes are probably the one thing that need protecting more than anything. Daddy Long Legs forgets to change into his old trainers when he goes into the garden soiling the new white ones I bought him. Caspian spills (A LOT) and often good children’s shoes are made from soft materials like suede. This means they quickly look scruffy. And I love bright coloured heels, but after a night out (not that I get that many though) these fancy pumps quickly become stained.
I put LIQUIPROOF to the test on a new pair of turquoise heels. I sprayed them and left them overnight. The next day I poured water on them (I wasn’t brave enough to try wine!) and it’s truly amazing.
See how the water just trickles off?
Besides actually working I think the biggest selling point for me, as a mum, is that it’s is completely eco-friendly, non-hazardous and non-toxic making it safe to use around children and animals.
The product retails for £10 for 50 ml and £40 for 250 ml aimed at fabric, suede, nubuck and sheepskin. They have also developed a special proof for leather, which I’ll definitely look into as it would be super for protecting bags especially the changing kind.
